Carousel planner

7 slides from one topic. Hook slide, content slides, CTA slide — with word budgets.

What this tool does

The best Instagram carousels are educational dossiers compressed into seven swipes. They convert better than any other Instagram format for solo professionals, and they're also the easiest to mess up — too many words per slide, no narrative arc, a weak first slide that no one taps past. A simple template fixes most of it.

How to use it

  1. Add your topic and profession.
  2. Pick a slide count (5, 7, or 10).
  3. We output an outline — hook slide, content slides, CTA slide — each with a word budget that keeps the design clean.
  4. Design in Canva or Figma using your brand colours. Don't exceed the word budgets.

Why it matters

A carousel that's saved is a carousel that's seen multiple times — and 'saves' is the strongest engagement signal Instagram tracks. Carousels with a clear teaching arc get saved at 3-5x the rate of single-image posts. They're also Google-indexable, which makes them quiet long-term traffic sources.

Frequently asked

Questions people actually ask.

How many words per slide?

20-35 max for body slides. 6-10 for hook and CTA slides. More than that, the design feels cluttered and the swipe-through rate drops.

Should every slide have an image?

No. Mix text-only slides with image slides — pure text slides with strong typography actually perform best in many niches (especially professional services).

What format should I export?

Square (1080×1080) for feed or portrait (1080×1350) for more space. Portrait takes up more screen real estate; square fits the grid better. Pick one and be consistent.
