What this tool does
Every website needs a privacy policy. Most solo businesses either don't have one, or have one that was clearly copy-pasted from a competitor's site five years ago. The generator gives you a clean starting point that covers the basics — and is good enough for a small business with a simple data footprint.
How to use it
- Enter your business name, website URL, and contact email.
- Check the boxes for the data practices that apply (cookies, email signups, payment processing, analytics).
- Generate the policy.
- Copy it onto your /privacy page. Update annually or whenever you add a new tool that handles user data.
Why it matters
Not having a privacy policy is a credibility problem first and a legal problem second. Prospects who care about privacy will check; the missing page tells them you don't take their data seriously. A basic policy fixes the impression in five minutes.

Is this legal advice?
No. This is a template suitable for simple websites that collect minimal personal data. If you handle health data, financial data, EU/UK user data at scale, or sell to children, talk to a lawyer.
What about GDPR / CCPA?
The generator includes baseline disclosures aligned with GDPR and CCPA. If your business is regulated, has significant EU/California exposure, or processes sensitive categories of data, get a privacy lawyer to review.
How often should I update it?
Whenever you change the data you collect or the tools you use to process it. At minimum, review annually. Note the "last updated" date on the page so visitors and regulators can see it's current.
