Logo maker
A starting-point logo for the business you don't have time to hire a designer for yet.
What this tool does
Most early-stage businesses don't need a great logo. They need a non-embarrassing one. A wordmark in a good typeface, in your brand colour, sized for a profile photo and a header — that's enough for the first two years. Save the designer budget for when the business is paying its bills.
How to use it
- Enter your business name.
- Pick a font category — serif (traditional), sans-serif (modern), or display (distinctive).
- Pick a colour.
- Optionally add an icon next to the wordmark.
- Download as SVG (preferred — scales infinitely) or PNG.
Why it matters
A clean wordmark in a real typeface beats a flashy 'real logo' from a $5 logo mill every time. Simplicity ages better than novelty.
Questions people actually ask.
Should I have an icon, just a wordmark, or both?
Wordmark only is the safest starting point. Add an icon when you need a small-format mark (favicon, app icon, social profile photo at small sizes). Don't use the icon alone for the first few years — your brand isn't recognisable yet.
What file format do I need?
SVG is the master file — vector, scales infinitely, works for print and web. PNG for places that don't accept SVG. Keep both.
When should I hire a real designer?
When you have product-market fit, the business is paying its bills, and the logo is starting to feel like a constraint. Not before. Most pre-launch logos get redesigned within 18 months — saving that money early is one of the best calls you can make.
